The treachery, the war, the lies, and the tears are all finally over. Sosei has broken apart leaving only one ninja in its memory. He continues to wanders the lands of the Shinobi reeking havoc on all who dare to utter his name. However, even this lone wolf’s ambition must end. With his death peace has returned to the world leaving new villages and ideas in its wake. Interdependence with both close allies and distant enemies has become necessary to survive. Villages have become desperate and legends have become old. Even the once feared Kakashi has been forced to settle down in his age. And with this has come the ushering of a new generation. The rookie nine have all grown up and even though they have gone their separate ways, they have regrouped in hopes of bringing the Leaf Village to its former glory. However, with the death of Tsunade the village needs a leader. Could it be time for a yellow haired boy’s dream to finally come true? Could the fox boy finally succeed in his promise or will he fall victim to biased opinions and stubborn villagers who refuse to except change. And what of Sasuke, has he become victim to Orochimaru’s cruel jutsu or is he still pursuing his goal of slaying his brother? And let us not forget Atasuki, even in these past years their power has expanded. With the capturing of the remaining Bijuu they have entered the next phase of the master plan. Not even the greatest ninja in the land can predict what they will do with their newly acquired power. There is so much opportunity and so little time to grasp it. Will you be swept away like the dust and tossed aside with the past? Or will you rise to the top of the Shinobi in your time. With everyday a new child is born and along with him is a story of either failure or success. So now choose your path as a Shinobi. Start from the bottom and work you way up to either become a hero or a villain of this world. Hold steady as with the beginning of a new generation come conflicts that no one was ready for.

So, in this unusually long, heart-to-heart talke between Jiraiya and Tsunade, they bring up two names we have never heard in the manga. The first is Jiraiya's old student that Naruto reminded him so much of, Namikaze Minato. He then casually mentions that this student was none other than the Fourth Hokage! So any theories about his name being Arashi are now dead wrong. Tsunade then mentions that his personality is more like his mother's, a former kunoichi from the Whirlpool Country, a play on words since Naruto's name comes from 'whirl'. Her name: Uzumaki Kushina. So now we know for sure that Naruto is the son of the Fourth and a kunoichi, who, since they don't share the same surname, we can assume were not married. I'm also thinking that Kushina must have known Rasengan since Tsunade said that Naruto's ninjutsu style was exactly like her's, so she most likely utuilized Kage Bunshin and Rasengan in a manner similar to Naruto. So...like a red-head Naruto maybe?

This chapter also mentions ROOT for the first time in a real long time. It might be a foreshadowing of sorts, but then again, who knows? It also looks like we're about to get a Jiraiya vs. Pein showdown...we'll either see just how insanely strong Pein is, or how strong Jiraiya really is when not drugged like he was in the fight with Tsunade against Orochimaru.
